Hoe pak je het sporten en bewegen weer op na een Time-out?

How do you get back into sports and exercise after a Time-out?

Exercise is healthy, we all know that. It is always a good idea to start exercising. But what if you want to pick up your exercise routine again after a long time and find it difficult? Here are some tips to help you with that:

  1. Start slowly and be realistic : After a period of little exercise, your body has changed. Do not expect to be able to exercise at the same level as before right away. It is important to first build up sufficient strength and stability before making fast and intense movements during your workouts. Take the time to gradually build up your strength and fitness and always listen to your body. For example, start with exercising once or twice a week and build this up slowly.
  2. Find a workout buddy or join a group : Exercising together can be motivating and creates a sense of community. If you have trouble motivating yourself, a workout buddy or group can be a good solution.
  3. Plan your workouts ahead and put them in your calendar : It’s best to do this on set days and times so that it becomes a regular part of your routine and you know exactly what to expect. By planning your workouts in advance, it’s harder to skip or postpone them. This way, you’ll stay motivated to keep training consistently.
  4. Get enough rest : Rest is important for a good recovery of your body. Make sure you get enough sleep and take enough rest moments between your workouts. For example, train every other day to prevent injuries.
  5. Watch your diet : Good nutrition can improve your athletic performance, but bad nutrition can also hinder it. Try to eat as little fat as possible before your workout and enough protein after your workout to support your muscles in recovery.

Be kind to your body, give it the rest it needs and listen to what it has to tell you.
